Commissions

No new commissions are being accepted at present.

A commissioned portrait of your working dog, horse or cattle is both a tribute to your animal and a precious memento that you will have for life.

Therefore it is very important that you invest a bit of thought, time and effort into taking great photos for me to paint from. I'm very happy to work with you to get the right shot.  Briefly:

  • Animals must look either relaxed, happy or engaged in work.

  • Do not submit photos of dogs biting livestock

  • Take photos from the eye level of the animal, don't look down at it

  • Ensure the photo is still clear when you zoom in to the actual size it will be in the painting

  • Light and shadow is important, try to get sunlight across the photo

  • Consider if the composition is exactly what you want on your wall, or should you try again?

Before contacting me about a commission, please carefully read Photo Guide and Terms and Conditions for information on what is needed for a great portrait to begin.
